Esperanto Conversation
The international language Esperanto is spoken by people around the world. With just a basic knowledge, you can make friends on all the continents and get an inside perspective on the world's cultures.

Introduction To Juggling
Beginners who cannot juggle will learn the basic 3-ball juggling pattern. As we work our way up from one ball to three, we will go over common mistakes and efficient practice techniques. Participants will be given as much individual instruction as possible.

Learn To Knit
Participants will learn how to make their own cheap and homemade knitting needles out of a dowel and then will learn some basic knitting techniques. While participants are using their new skills to create a project the facilitators (and perhaps some other participants!) will entertain them with a few magic/circus tricks.

The Truth About Identy Theft
I would talk about Identity theft as it effects the three credit reporting agencies and the two background check databases and the State of Massachusetts databases. What have they collected and how can it destroy your life.

Wiggle It Just a Little Bit: Indoor Worm Composting
want to recycle your food scraps but don"t have a yard? you don"t need one. start composting indoors with the help of our wiggly friends: worms! come away from this workshop ready to start your own vermiculture bin.

35mm Film Pinholes: Simple Cameras Made Out Of Trash
Simple cameras can be constructed out of almost anything once you learn the principles involved in pinhole optics. Participants will learn how a pinhole camera works, and make their own cameras out of a matchbox, a soda can and electrical tape.

Beginning Lampwork: Making Glass Beads
A beginning tutorial and demonstration of making glass beads with a simple and portable torch set-up. There will be time for some hands-on practice.

Creating Emotional Safety As A Facilitator
We will learn basic tools and language to help facilitate inclusive environments for learning and sharing. These skills are needed in any social fields, especially teachers. We will talk about the diversity in our American culture and how to make everybody feel needed and important.

Drag King 101: Strut For Success! (By All The King's Men)
Ever wanted to know how to pass, how to play, how to BE a king? This fun and interactive workshop offers tips on Binding, Packing, Tie Tying, Facial Hair application, a royal attitude adjustment, and character development! Everything you need to know to start your own career or feel comfortable passing; gender discussion included and encouraged.

Intermediate To Advanced Juggling
This workshop is for anyone who can already juggle 3 balls. Participants will learn efficient practice techniques and be given as much individual instruction as possible. Topics covered will depend on the skill level of participants but may include: 3-7-ball patterns, 3-5-club patterns, passing with a partner, and bounce juggling.

Open Relationships, Non-Monogamy, Polyamory, and More!
Learn more about non-monogamy, polyamory, open relationships, and more! We will use discussions and roleplays to help everyone figure out what might be best for them, and to work out ways to improve communication with people they are in relationships with. This is a workshop for people who are currently in open relationships of any form, people who think they might like to be, and people who just want more information.

Sprouts And Microgreens
Learn to sprout food in jars and grow microgreens in shallow containers indoors and all year long. Cheap, healthy, and easy to grow, living food is full of enzymes, minerals and chlorophyll.

Crafting Creatures: Easy Techniques For Knitted Stuffed Animals
In this workshop we will learn a very basic technique for turning a flat square of knit material into a stuffed animal. By varying small parts of the technique and adding details to the basic form, this process can be used to make a wide variety of real and imaginary animals. If participants want to finish an animal during the workshop they should come with a square (of any size) already knit.

Learn a new set of games from ice breakers to teambuilders to party games. Whether you are working with students, co-workers, or having a game night at your house, this workshop will be a new source of wealth!

Herbal First Aid
Find out how to respond to everyday ailments and injuries in a simple, natural way. The plants that heal us are often found in our environment and even in our own kitchens. You will learn how to deal with bites, stings, cuts, bruises and other injuries with herbal poultices, salves, tinctures and oils. We will also discuss herbal remedies for colds and flu.

Kick the Kibble: Cooking for your Animal Companion
If you eat with intent but are displeased with the crap you feed your furry friends this workshop is for you. Learn about one womyn's experience feeding her canine companion home cooked food (yes I feed my dog "human food") and why commercial pet foods are not ideal. We will try out a few recipes.

Lesbian Dating 101
Learn how to decide if you're ready to date, where to find girls you are likely to enjoy dating, and how to get those girls to go on dates with you. Proven advice from the Dyke Date Doctor who has spent two years researching the subject and wants to pass the knowledge on to other lesbians or woman-identified women who want to date other women. Other varieties of folk welcome.

People's Poetry Workshop
In this 90 minute "people's poetry" workshop, you will: learn and embark on a series of short poetry exercises chosen for maximum fun and learning. You will read and discuss 2-3 published poems, and end by writing and sharing your own new poem with us. 16+. All experience levels welcome.

Rad Library Resources
Come and talk about your favorite radical sources, and learn where to find more. In this workshop, we'll talk about how librarians can support your radical, activist, community, social justice, and d.i.y./grassroots media projects. We'll also talk about free (fun!) stuff you can access from the Boston Public Library, and discuss ways to share information about resources with your friends & collaborators.

This workshop is designed to help you finally start your own garden this very spring, in containers or in soil. Learn the basics of seed-starting, transplanting, soil prep, maintenance, etc. Take home some seedlings too!

Strategies, general tips, introduction to anybody interested in learning how to play the game that's slightly easier than chess with less luck than monopoly.

Practical Urban Cycling
Discover the tips and tricks of getting around Boston on your bicycle. We will talk about things like: carrying stuff, navigating, safety, all-weather riding, traffic, repair on the road, preventative care, cycling laws, theft prevention, good/bad products, the MBTA, and having fun! Learn tried and true techniques contributed from many Boston cycling experts, and share your tips with the rest of the class!

Salsa, Merengue, Spanish & La Lucha
Learn to lead & follow the basic steps of salsa and merengue while learning basic Spanish vocabulary along with the political history behind the creation of the dances and the people who do them.

Supporting Survivors Of GLBT Abusive Relationships
Learn about abusive relationships: how to recognize them, resources, how to support yourself in one, how to support someone else who is in one, etc. The workshop will cater to some specific issues for people in GLBT (gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender/queer) communities, but most of it will apply to any type of abusive relationship, and anyone is welcome to attend.

You Are Not A Number: Applying To Grad School Even If Your GREs Are Low
If you're politically-engaged, like learning, and don't mind hard work, chances are good that you've considered graduate school. However, often serious people, particularly activists and artists, have better things to do with their time than to take practice exams. This workshop will help people to think about how to apply for good graduate schools in the humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary fields even if their GRE scores are not high.

We will demonstrate how to build a wireless access point to share internet service.

Home Brewing
This workshop will explore home brewing, and cover all the steps needed to produce a tasty beer by brewing a 'mock beer' in the classroom. People will get a feel for the time involved by brewing a fake beer. The real ingredients will be available for viewing, touching, smelling and tasting. Special emphasis will be placed on cost control for cash strapped home brewers.

Intro To Linguistics
A basic introduction to the science of language: a general overview of how language is studied (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, & semantics). This will incorporate examples from the participants (why does a 2-year old start talking? Why can't I learn German?).

Mask Making And Cardboard Sculpting
You can choose to sculpt a mold out of clay and then learn the wonders of Cardboard-Mache, or you can skip the clay and learn the art of the box cutter to make a larger than life mask from an old cardboard box! we will also talk briefly beforehand about generating images and characters to encourage participants to use masks and puppetry for creative dissent.

Time Management
Time management is one of life's fundamental success skills, as well as a key skill for alleviating stress. This workshop teaches you how to manage time, starting with the philosophy underlying wise and effective time use, and then concrete techniques for putting that philosophy for use. If you are stressed out, then you really need to take this workshop! And if you are stressed out but don't have time to take it - well, then you REALLY need to take it.

Vintage Moped Restoration And Small Engine Repair
Curious about carburetors and combustion? Learn the basics of small two-stroke engine repair by helping restore a vintage moped! You'll soon be on your way to reviving a wide variety of old machines.

Basic Self Defense
A basic self defense class geared towards people who have very little to no knowledge in self defense. We want to teach something as simple as throwing a punch, because as simple as it is it requires some basic techniques. We want to show a basic introduction into martial arts/self defense for like minded people, especially when something like martial arts/self defense may seem inaccessible.

Electronic Design, Microcontrollers and You
Come for an intro to designing and making your own circuit boards, using free and open source software, and how to fabricate boards and stuff them. How to select and use microcontrollers to run little gadgets and control processes. Featuring multi-color LED pulsing!

Fun with Fermentation!
We will explore the joys of fermenting. The group will make a batch of kim-chi together as a first hand experience. We will also discuss other fermented foods including yogurt, sauerkraut, kombucha, miso, and tempeh.

Know Your Rights!
This workshop teaches the basics of how to deal with police and assert/maintain your rights at home, on the street, in your car, and at protests.

Overcoming Procrastination, Perfectionism, And Blocks To Success
This workshop helps participants understand the specific nature of their procrastination and blocks, and why they may not previously been able to overcome their procrastination problem. It also discusses the key procrastination symptoms of perfectionism, negativity, hypersensitivity and panic. After precisely characterizing the problem, we then move on to discuss three solutions for procrastination: a simple behavioral fix; an eight-step process for defeating fear-based procrastination; and the ultimate solution for living an empowered life.

Run, Run, Run For Fun
Want to learn more about running and physical activity? Ever say to yourself: I wish i was a better runner/enjoyed running more/had a fun physical activity to do to keep in shape? In this workshop we will set personal fitness goals, come up with six week plans to get us started, and learn some basics about running and physical fitness!

Speed Erotica
Produce a short piece of written erotica, read & workshop it with the group. The goal won't necessarily be to create a "publication-ready" piece of writing, but to be comfortable with producing & sharing a sexually-themed story with other writers. Participants can write alone or in pairs.

Strap It Down, Pack It In: Drag King Masculine Performance Workshop With Heywood Wakefield

Whether you want to hit the stage, hang out with the guys at the local pub, or fulfill a fantasy in the bedroom, it's all gender performance! Maybe you're a femme wanting a walk on the other side of the gender spectrum, or a MTF looking for a gender bending experience. The workshop will cover identity creation, make-up and costuming, physical manifestations of masculinity, and a discussion of masculinity and drag performance history. Chemical Weapons & Police Tactics
Modern police tactics emphasize the use of "less-lethal" weapons rather than direct application of force through nightsticks and bullets. Among the most popular tools in this class of weapons are chemical agents like pepper spray and teargas. While often promoted as being virtually harmless, these chemicals can actually be quite dangerous, but with proper knowledge and preparation many of their effects can be controlled or avoided entirely. We'll also cover warning signs that police may use chemical weapons, and under what conditions they are most likely to.

I will teach the art of felting. This is a way of taking two fabrics and binding them together by use of a special needle.

How To Use Your Story: A Community Organizing Overview
The goal of this workshop is to become familiar with some community organizing principles and terminology. And, learn how to use your story in your political work.

Prefigurative Parenting: Growing Empowered Kids from the Beginning
Using doll baby substitutes, we"ll learn some practical skills like breast feeding, baby wearing, and respectful communication with toddlers, while discussing the anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian reasons for these practices. While most of the workshop will focus on very young people, we"ll also spend a little bit of time discussing schooling, nutrition, media/marketing to kids, and freeing kids from compulsory gender. parents, potential parents, and people who are just curious about relating to parents and kids are all welcome to participate. please bring water to drink.

Basic Bicycle Maintainence
I'd like to teach people to keep their bikes in basic working order. This is accomplished by regular cleaning and lubrication, as well as adjustment of cables. Many modern bikes have sealed-bearing systems in their hubs and bottom brackets so I will not cover bearing adjustment unless asked by the class.

Growing Yr Own Mushrooms
Learn the PK-tek method of growing mushrooms and how to dry them for storage. This works with a variety of grain loving mushrooms. This method using supplies easily found at thrift stores or maybe things you've already have at home.
