1) Review of current research of social media usage.
2) Understanding the basic behaviors of social media usage.
3) Critique of various Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, YouTube channels and LinkedIn profiles to show effective uses of social media.
4) Best practices and etiquette for using social media for nonprofits, artists and small business owners.
5) Volunteers from the class willing to have their Facebook pages and Twitter feeds critiqued.

I have been working with local radio and television broadcasters all over the U.S. for the past 6 years on their digital communications strategies to help them build more engaged local communities. I am the founder of LocalBroadcastSales.com, the leading on-demand sales training company in local broadcasting. I am also the founder of BostonKnows, a digital media strategy firm working with local businesses throughout New England. I have worked extensively with the Arts and Business Council and MITX here in Boston.
