Granny 101: Intro to Crochet
Learn basic crochet: the quick and relatively simple process of converting loops of cylindrical fiber into useful items. Can you curl your wrist? Well, then you can probably learn to crochet! Come join our community of learners.

lesson plan
1.) Not a yarn: Brief history of crochet.
1a.) Gram’s a little chunky: Crochet takes on knitting —difference and similarities.
1b.) Crochet library: Examples of crocheted items.
2.) You hooked? Description of necessaries and helpful supplies.
3.) Deconstruction of a stitch: Illustration of the components that make up a stitch.
4.) Got me in stitches: Demonstration of how to create a slipknot, basic stitches a.) single b.) double, c.) triple, and how to join to create a circle.
4.) Loose and sloppy: students practices slip knots, chain, and single crochet.
6.) Milk, cookies, and the flagpole: Assigned homework —practice, practice, practice to develop good tension!
