Creating Collective Access: Careshifting, Dismantling Ableism, and Our Communities
What is careshifting? How can we create access within our communities? In this interactive workshop, we will talk not only about what disability justice is, but how we can incorporate it into our day-to-day lives and talk about what support looks like within our communities. We will talk about careshifting models in Toronto and Berkeley, about sustainable PA (Personal Attendant) work with a focus on economic justice, and about how centering ableism works hand-in-hand with dismantling capitalism, racism, classism, heterosexism, and transphobia!
