lesson plan
We'll start with participants filling out a questionnaire to determine what topics we should cover.
Then, we'll head outside to poke at my and possibly others' cars. We'll get a chance to try out at least some of the procedures, depending on time and relevance.
We'll end by talking about where to find further information and how to talk to the pros when they're necessary: what they need to know and what questions to ask them. We'll also cover about how often certain procedures (e.g. brakes, belts) should get taken care of.
facilitator experience
Grace teaches middle school math at a charter school in Western MA. She's been changing oil since before she could drive, because it's kinda fun in addition to being cheaper. While certainly no master mechanic, she's picked up a few more tricks along the way, too.
intended audience
Folks who want to take a more active role in the upkeep of a car, whether they have one or not.
