In this workshop we will do an overview of the affordable health insurance programs available in the state of Massachusetts, including Masshealth, Commonwealth Care, Health Safety Net, Commonwealth Choice, and Medical Security Plan. We will go over a few key things that will make understanding and navigating the system a bit easer, such as:
how to apply
how to use your benefits
exactly what benefits are covered
does free care really exist?
programs availalbe for immigrants - both documented and undocumented
who to call when things go wrong

I'll do a bunch of talking - including defining confusing jargon and acronyms. I'll draw some diagrams for folks like me who are visual learners. We will have some handouts and plenty of time for Q and A.

Marta has been working as a MassHealth outreach and enrollment coordinator at Fenway Community Health for over two years and has done tons of trainings and presentations for folks so they can understand how the system works.
