Medieval Carpentry i.e. Timber Framing
Timber framing is the oldest style of carpentry. It predates machines and the oil industrial complex. The construction method is based of of human-power not machine-power. It uses green (fresh cut) timbers cut into interlocking joinery. Its as simple as a mortise and tenon, and as complex as locking scarf joints.
Come learn to use big chisels, axes, draw knifes, saws.
We will be making Scissor Trusses. These originate from the framing in Viking ships, and later Scandinavian Stave Churches.
