Reclaim movement: Anyone can modern dance
In the early 1900s Isadora Duncan and two other female dancers decided to rebel against the rigid constraints of ballet, and so, modern was born. Modern dance focuses on self expression as opposed to technical execution, it's driven by emotions, gravity, and moods.
This workshop will teach some basic stretches and warm ups, and some across the floor work such as jumps and turns. We will also do partner work and stretching, and will improve/choreograph their own 8 count routine, creating moves. Remember, in modern there are no limits. Modern makes it so ANYONE can dance.

lesson plan
I plan on stretching/cardio (you will get sweaty!), basic dance moves, then an across the floor session, and lastly a brief combo.
You can come barefoot or in dance shoes if you prefer. Wear loose clothes, bring water. Like I said, you'll probably get sweaty.
facilitator experience
I did ballet from the ages of 3 to 15, then I quit for a while, but from the ages of 21-23 I started again and now I dance about 8 hours a week doing modern, hip hop, and ballet/pointe.

Anyone who just wants to shake it!
