Improv Comedy Incubator

Whether you have ever seen "Who's Line Is It Anyway" or not, come check out the Improv Comedy Incubator! It'll be a great social activity for everyone to get to know one another a tiny bit and to just relax and laugh.

Improv is about thinking on your toes (which isn't easy either) so we'll help you out. Improv helps you in you in many different aspects of your life, in social and professional situations regardless of your profession or place in life.

lesson plan

A variety of warm up improv games followed by some work on thinking on your toes, making yourself into a character, and just having fun. We'll concentrate on getting to know one another the basic ideas of improv:

a) it's about taking and giving,
b) listening and doing
c) not all improv has to be funny
d) commit to what you are doing:Follow your instincts and don't doubt yourself
e) take a risk be it big or small
f) surprise yourself and others
g) have fun
h) feed off audience and player energy

I have been passing along my knowledge by organizing a The Cambridge Improv Incubator for the last 8 months and have been involved with it for nearly two years. Basically a weekly workshop such as this.

Also, I have been performing with a couple of Improv Comedy Troupes around Boston for the last 2 years.

Currently I am on the operating staff of ImprovBoston in Cambridge.

intended audience

Open to anyone and everyone of all ages that has any interest in theater, acting, or improv comedy or anyone who has ever watched "Who's Line Is It Anyway and just wants to have some fun and laugh. Bring a smile and bring a friend, we are an open and supportive atmosphere. No previous experience required.
