Becoming Creative: or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love songwriting.
“Writing is easy;” says Red Smith, “All you do is sit down at a type writer and open a vein.” This workshop will offer you both practical and philosophical tools and resources to help you become (more) creative and wildly prolific; all while keeping the blood in your body and off the page.

Tim studied writing and music for over 15 years and his B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College includes a concentration in both. He created and facilitated “The Chaise Lounge Lovers,” a Boston area songwriting critique that was active for two years. He has studied with songwriters such as Catie Curtis, Lisa Loeb and Josh Ritter and has a co-writing credit on the song “Reveal” from Willy Porter’s album “Available Light” In February 2009, he wrote 28 songs all of which are posted at www.TimmyRiordan.com. He says he like the songs from Feb 2 (My Heart), 9th (I Don’t Take Photographs) and 11th (Peter Let Me In) the best.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in easing the pain of the creative process and becoming more creative. This workshop will be of particular interest for writers and songwriters.
